AC Adapter for Half-Bridge Amplifier

Introducing our AC Adapter, specifically designed for seamless and safe integration of the 350V Half-Bridge Amplifier with your standard wall outlet. This adapter is engineered to address the challenges of high-power amplification, ensuring reliable operation and enhanced safety:

• Direct Wall Outlet Connection: The adapter allows you to connect the 350V Half-Bridge Amplifier directly to a standard AC wall outlet, providing a straightforward and efficient power solution.
   
• Built-in Resettable 5A Fuse: Equipped with a resettable 5A fuse, the adapter offers protection against overcurrent, ensuring the safety of both the amplifier and your electrical setup.
   
• Inrush Current Limitation: The adapter features an inrush current limiter, which is crucial for preventing the triggering of circuit breakers during power-on. This function is especially important when the capacitor in the amplifier is initially charged up.
   
• Integrated Mains (EMI) Filtering: The adapter includes built-in EMI filtering on the mains input, helping suppress conducted noise and ensuring compliance with local electrical regulations. This improves system stability while reducing interference with other equipment connected to the same power line.
   
• Transient Filtering: A filtering capacitor is incorporated to safely connect to the ground. This capacitor plays a vital role in filtering out transients that may occur during the switching processes of the amplifier, thereby enhancing the overall stability and performance of your setup.

Recommended Usage: When using this adapter, we strongly recommend combining it with a variac (variable autotransformer) to allow gradual voltage adjustment into the Half-Bridge Amplifier. Without a variac or other voltage reduction method, the amplifier will operate at the full rectified mains voltage (up to approximately 340V DC when connected to 240V AC), which results in extremely high power levels.

While output power can be reduced by lowering the duty cycle of the input signal, we generally recommend also having a method to control the input voltage itself. This provides smoother startup, improved experimental control, and an additional safety margin when working with high-energy systems.
